Install it
Homebrew, Bun, Nix, and a PowerShell installer work too — the repo lists all of them. The binary is called omp, not oh-my-pi.Create a key
Mint one on the API keys page and name it omp, so it can be revoked on its own if the machine it lives on is lost.Export the key
The config below names the variable, not the secret, so models.yml stays safe to sync between machines.Declare the provider
Create ~/.omp/agent/models.yml. apiKey is the name of the environment variable to read, and authHeader: true is what sends it as Authorization: Bearer. Models are listed explicitly — omp cannot enumerate a custom provider’s catalogue.Run it
Models are addressed as provider/model-id. Since the ids here already contain a slash, the argument carries two — xmr4ai is the provider, the rest is the model. /model switches mid-session.Make it the default (optional)
Add this to ~/.omp/agent/config.yml so omp on its own starts on this model instead of needing the flag every time.
Things that bite here
- A coding agent fans out into many small calls, and the per-minute rate limit is shared with everything else on the account. The overview shows what is left in the current window.
- Do not rely on omp’s bundled entry for a model you are routing through here. Its built-in catalogue is written for the model’s own vendor, and a provider block of your own is what makes the base URL and the key apply.
- If a model misbehaves in thinking mode — dropped tool calls, or a rejected request — omp exposes per-model compat flags (maxTokensField, supportsToolChoice, supportsDeveloperRole) to square it away. Reach for those before assuming the gateway is at fault.
Finding model ids
Both configs above name models explicitly. The catalogue endpoint is the authority on what those ids are.
